Hey Guys, I'm a little confused with a motor I just purchased. It's a 1970 455 #1231738 SF Code motor with Cylinder heads #1231786 that the guy pulled from a Riviera. The Rochester carburetor is #7040246 LK date Code #2230, which according to everything I look at is a Stage 1 Carburetor. Now the part that I'm confused with is the fact that I thought a SS code 455 is a stage 1 not the SF code. Can someone clarify this for me? Do I have a stage 1 motor possibly? Thanks, Josh
SF code isn't a stage 1 engine. It could be a Stage 1 carb though which I guess is possible. What distributor does it have? If it's a Stage 1 carb, interested in selling it? I have a 70 Stage 1 engine that has everything but the carb.
