Hi I need a little help my dad gave a mint 1970 four door 350 Lesaber 5,800 miles original miles that has a pretty good leak on the driver side I have been searching hi a low for a manifold does know where I can find one a fare price I found a set $145 each side not including shipping any suggestion anyone have a lean set or should I slap some headers? What make a model will fit my car? I have called everyone no body seems to know in which direction to go in please help chad
Is the manifold damaged? If its leaking at the head mating surface you could get gaskets to put there. Del pro makes some
Step one is to locate the leak. Is it leaking from between the head and the manifold or from the exhaust pipe to the manifold? If it is the head to manifold leaking then remove the manifold after soaking the bolts for 24 hours with pb blaster. Give each bolt a tap with a hammer before you try to loosen them. Be prepared that you may break a bolt and need to remove the head to have the bolt removed. If the head and the manifold are flat and smooth then buy a "remflex" buick 350 exhaust manifold gasket and it should solve your leak issues. In some cases the head and manifold need to be surfaced to smooth them out. There are no headers that fit your car.
yeah , and unless you've got a show car don't pay $145 for a manifold IF ya need one . ask and keep an eye out - there's extra's out there/here . and pay attention to where/how the heat riser is attached . couple choices . 5800 miles ? or just a mistype ? 58000 ? if its 5800 - wow . nice car . 4 door or not .
