1970 GSX

They don't have a breakdown of the all the colors and options they made of each. I tried to get info to see how rare certain things are but without the data from the microfilm that Wayne Roberts has its just not possible to see how many had what options. Would be really cool to see a breakdown of everything. The GSX registry did a breakdown of the cars that have been registered with them. See pic

 

According to that chart my GSX 10/10 455 Turbo 400/console car is one of 14 out of 60 in Apollo white? I thought there was a total of 187 10/10 GSXs in 1970. What is correct, I've got a Wayne Roberts report on my car #116.

Yes you are correct there was 187 white 70GSX built in 1970 it’s in the GSX registry.

Only 60 White cars are in the registry out of the 187. This information is only of the ones registered. I wish Mark could get Wayne to let him do a sheet like this of all the 1970 GSX's.

 

Someone once told me 44 - but that was years ago. BTW, I have one also, car 677.

10-10 is the paint code for Artic White.

 

How did you know it was #677? Is there a # on the build sheet? I'd like to find what # Sandy's X was.

So do I. I have asked more than once. I would do the research if given the chance and the information provided does show only the cars in the registry. You could get a rough estimate by taking the percentages and extrapolating to the total numbers but that is as close as we can get without the microfilm.

Seemingly if Wayne is able to apply a sequence # to ea. GSX by whatever means (I assume just in the order they were invoiced since that's the info he has), then he's already done that painstaking research & has gone through the microfiche and knows the VIN/options for each GSX produced. It'd just be a matter of compiling it all.

And Glacier White in 1970 for Buick. This is the color code that shows up on the cowl tag. First 10 is body color. second 10 is roof color. Roof could be painted or vinyl and be a different color

 

If you are able to get the GSX information ask for access to get Stage-1 information and I will do the same.
