Words of wisdom....I have seen worse come back to life.....AND..... They aren't making them anymore..Remember 678 made..If I had the funds,I would have jumped right on it..
Those are the reproduction Keystones and not the originals. They appear hurt beyond the relative costs of new. Originals in good condition are rare because the spokes flake their chrome very easily. I ran a set for years. To me, the Keystones shown are worthless. I am with George N. This reminds me of one of the Arkansas GSX cars except I do not recall one hit in the front like this one. It has been outside a lot and is in terrible condition. It will look much worse once it is apart. Not too many years ago, it would be just a parts car.
Whew - quite the read. Thanks for the link. Wasn't on here much @ that point in time & missed that soap opera.
I "thought" this was the car w/o the front clip on it...that's why I could not remember it being wrecked in front......but when I compared pics..the missing front clip car has the "correct" GSX stripe and GSX emblem/decal on the rear qtr...the one on Ebay has the wrong stripe and missing decal.....I added it to my watch list ...... just to see where the final price ends up at auction end.
Not to veer too far from the thread (I could never afford a GSX) but, agree with Jim, that style Keystone is worth zero unless mint. They are Keystone Klassics. The style that is desirable are the Keystone Kustomags, pic attached. Mark
Wow--those are the same Keystones I ran for years. It is too bad they never reproduced those. Even the reproduction caps are not the same as the old style caps you show.
I was being sarcastic on the Keystones, but also admit ignorance in that I didn't realize they could be worth something. They never did anything visually for me. When I was a little kid some older guys in my neighborhood had Crager S/S on their cars so I have a little bit more fondness for them, but still don't think I'd put them on a car. I like OE wheels on the cars which is kinda funny since I manufacture aftermarket wheels for 3/4 & 1-ton trucks (www.ricksontruckwheels.com)
I assume everyone saw the auction was ended early. Guess he was just fishing to see what it was worth. It was up over $15K last I looked - He would have been wise to take that imho.
