I bought this quite a few years ago because I always liked them. It was disassembled for paint and never touched again for over 20 years. I have all the parts except the air cleaner and driver/passenger door panels.

It has an auto, buckets, A/C, PW, PS,PB, PL console shift, 3.43 posi, rear spoiler, white with black top(removed) and interior.

The odometer reads 25,xxx miles and from the looks of it is correct. The underside looks like a new car and there is only one spot of rust under the battery tray the size of a quarter. Not a spot of rust anywhere else. I'm going to put it back together in a year or two. I have 2 projects ahead of it.

I'm going to use it for a daily summer driver and to haul the race car to car shows.

Welcome! You are among good company here with a list of projects to work on. You only have three project cars- really?? If you are in MN then what do you do all winter? Ice fish, snowmobile, pot luck, shovel snow, etc, etc:)

Seriously, Where are you from in MN?

Of all my projects, I'm down to only 2 more cars to finish a '70 Roadrunner (Hemi) and the GS. I actually like the Road runner unrestored, it gets a lot of attention. I am building a new bike and I collect snowmobiles and minibikes, so I'm always restoring them too. I drag race in the summer and build stuff all winter. It's nice to have the off season to catch up.

I'm just north of St. Paul about 50 miles..

Do you race at Mile high? We may go there this year. I have a friends kid in the USAF Academy.

Nope he is going to trade it to me for My Dually:) Welcome to the board. Nice car but I don't think unless your towing a Jr dragster it would be a good Idea your trailer and car should not weigh more than the tow vehicle

I am going to build the tranny right, good shafts & gearsets, sprag races and all late model Torrington bearings. I own racing engine and machine shop, so thats not a problem. I may put a Gear Vendors overdrive behind it as well.
I will only be hauling the car on an open trailer for shows and such.

As far as the trailer out weighing the hauler...my dually/trailer combo weigh 19,000# combined and the trailer is way more than half...Like all the loaded semis going down the road, or freight trains for that matter, the hauled weight usually outweighs the hauler. It would not be economical to haul freight otherwise, unless you are talking outer space cargo...then you need a ton of rocket/fuel for several pounds of cargo. :)

I'm going to make a hidden receiver hitch for it out of stainless steel tubing.

It will make a great tow vehicle. Back in the day, we towed everything with a Firebird, Challenger, Cuda and others, I hauled my first racecar to the track with a 70 Cuda 340 with a Pistol grip 4 spd.!

Besides, it's going to be like a new car, so what better?

Sorry for me the frame on a GS is nothing like a Dually frame. I for one would be worried about frame twist and suspension/braking issues. I would expect we all did some not so smart things back in the day.

I'm not too worried about it. Throw the car on an open, aluminum trailer with 4 wheel brakes and it will weigh less than most boats I see being hauled by minivans now days. And the GS has a full frame compared to a uni-body.

My Roadrunner still has the holes in the lower bumper from a hitch and a trailer plug in the trunk...I will probably haul them both with each other at some point too :)

Remember the old days of tow bars?? Man that was awesome! Drop the driveshaft and go!

Yes I do remember tow bars. I raced a 69 Mach in the late 70's and we used a big Ford wagon to tow it with the front bumper removed and the bar bolted to the frame horns. But like I said I did some crazy stuff back then. Besides being a Ford guy that is

That's not crazy, that's how it was done back then. We all did it, cause that was our only option.
