    BUQUICK I'm your huckleberry.

It has been owned by two people here on V8Buick who both took good care of the car and kept it as a true survivor. After that someone painted the entire car which ruined its survivor status. It sat in our garage for a few days and I marveled at how nice it looked and what a great survivor it was with it original paint.

That was not many years ago and it was 1/2 of the price being asked now. I still regret not buying it as I really liked the original paint and white painted roof.

Another car advertised as a survivor when it just isn’t so. Who installed that brake booster?

Don and I both owned it. The car had an incredible amount of original parts on it . Don got it ready for the GS Nationals and it did really well . I got it and had the drivers door repainted by my awesome body guy. He also buffed the paint. I cleaned it up and made it a little nicer . Balanced the tires , fixed some minor mechanical issues. The transmission is original and had been rebuilt, the radiator was a Harrison and had been repaired. It also has it's original engine. It was a great driving car. I took it to the 2015 BCA Nationals and got Archival Elite. I put it up for sale and sold it later that year to a guy in Massachusetts . The next time I saw it, it was for sale at a GAA Auction and was a no sale after being painted for the exact same price I sold it for. Volo got it from another auction and the car is originally a 4 wheel drum non power brake car. Someone has converted it to power disc brakes. When it was new it was ordered with the WG wheels that it had when I had it. The radio was changed to an A/M F/M by Don I think. Don put the nice exhaust system on it too. Being a California car it had no rust and the California emissions, Carbon canister with the correct ports on it. This car is one of the Archival cars in my signature.

Someone has also removed the nice looking Goodyear G60s for modern rubber. It might drive better but it sure doesn’t look as good.

Volo ruins pretty much every car it comes across. You will never see more fish eyes in paint, sanded glass and trim, and poor fit and finish, all while maintaining an over abundance of Armor All shine on everything. Jump into a bench seat car at Volo with both doors open, and your liable to slide right out the other side and onto the floor. They charge like $16 a person to walk through, it’s nice to see old cars, but the butchery of it all ruins the mood. Best of all they appraise their own cars on site, so every car has been appraised at least $60,000 and you’re in luck they only want $57,500. For a Dennis Weaver Dodge Dart with a 318.

Anyhow I saw this GS there, and luckily I have a bad memory so I can’t say for sure, but I think it was a nice car with a lousy fresh paint job if memory serves me right.

Looking at the underside pics I see two items. The correct transmission modulator has been lifted off it and it is painfully obvious this has had a disc brake conversion. No splash shields , that out of place too long spindle bolt.. that terrible looking power booster give that away..

Nice looking car, the past owners preserved it well. Duel Dart was probably a leaning tower of power!

. They were taking photos of the block stamps. I called them and answered some of the questions they had. That is how I know they bought it at an auction.

And for anybody visiting the Volo Illinois area, I am not saying it’s not worth the $16 to check it out, just saying the cars they personally restore or present there are usually high school shop class level. They do have lots of historic bikes, boats, snowmobiles, movie cars, and other items that are cool to see. Also there is an antique mall that is free of charge to go through.
