Here you have an original 1970 GS Stage 1 4spd with its original motor.

There were only 664 4spd car produced. 1970 is the most desirable year for the Stage 1 because this was the year that produced the most horse power and torque. Muscle car review rated the 70 Stage 1, the 3rd fastest muscle car behind the Shelby Cobra and 435hp Vette.

From a performance aspect, the stage1 option consisted of larger valves in the heads (intake valves increased from 2.00 to 2.125 and exhaust valves increased from 1.625 to 1.75), stiffer valve springs (used a dual spring setup), re-jetted carburetor, re-curved distributor, special high-lift camshaft, high-volume fuel pump, different oil pump spring, bigger oil pickup tube diameter in 1970 only.

Now that you have decided that you should own one of the most powerful muscle cars ever produced, I will tell you about this particular car.

70 GS Stage 1, 4spd, original motor with the original VIN stamp and SS stamp, trans is correct but not the original trans, The car was originally Cornet Gold it is now painted Black with Red GSX stripes and Original GSX spoilers. No Rust Texas car and it runs fantastic. Bottom of the car is clean original and the paint looks great but has a couple nicks and some slight flaws that are only visible about 1 to 2 feet away from the car. The chrome is great, interior is very nice with some wear, Trunk is clean original with spare tire. The motor is rebuilt to stock specs with some head work that adds some punch. New headers and a nice flow-in exhaust - helps her breath. The chrome on the wheels is like new; nice radial tires. This is the fastest Stage 1 that I have ever driven. It sounds the best as well. Not too loud and not too quiet. This is a fun car to drive and gets a lot of attention at shows!

Options can add a lot of value to a collectable muscle car. This car is loaded.

Options on the GS historic sheet include (VIN 446370H228247):
