I am wondering if there is anyone out there that can help me with some information. I lost my GS in 1994 or 95. My dad was driving it in Boone county Kentucky and got it taken away because he was drinking. I never was able to come up with the money to get it back so it was auctioned off. I found the original motor that went in it and still have it. It was a Blue 1970 GS 455 with light gray primer areas on it. Had the original rally sport wheels but had an oldsmobile 455 in it while I was rebuilding the original Buick 455 engine (which I never got to put back in it).
I believe it was missing one of the fender wells. It also had some funky blue interior that want original. I also have the original interior in my shed. if anyone has any informatin on the whereabouts or status of the car, please call me at
270-236-1628 or email me at: bengilkey@yahoo.com.
    Thanks alot.
    Ben

Contact the state where it was auctioned and ask the DMV to do a VIN search to verify if it is still in the state.

That's getting harder to do around here. Seems the DMV in this state thinks we are violating someone's privacy rights with title searches to try and track the history of an automobile.

    Dwayne,
The title record and registration are public records. So,
    don't let anyone deter you.

Our state used to let us fill out a form, send in a small fee, and in turn the DMV would give us a list previous owners of a car. Now, even though you can still fill out the form and send in a check, you get a your check returned to you with a nice little letter stating how our state's DMV no longer provides this type of information because it violates privacy laws.

How else can I search? I just thought the info I was looking for in my case would be interesting trivia to go with my car.
