Here is a very nice looking 1970 skylark. They claim it is numbers matching. I dont know if they do or not. It's a very nice looking car:TU: http://cgi.msn.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=16124&item=2458401764 check it out. -Cody
The Vin is a '70 GS455 HT vin, this is the real deal :Smarty: . Looks like a good project for someone.
Cool. I don't know anything about vins. And yes, that car would be a great project. If I had the money, I would be interested in it. I love those cragars too. -Cody
Don't know anything about VINs? No time like the present to learn. There are lots of good buick sites out there that list the breakdowns, and eventually you'll get to the point where you memorize the numbers and can decode at a glance. 446370 is a '70GS455, 434370 is a '70 GS350. Then comes the plant letter and serial number. :Smarty: Boy am I a wealth of worthless knowledge
 Well, even that bit helps. Other than that, i need to learn more about the production #'s too. BTW, I was looking at the engine of that GS, and is it just me, or does the engine look smaller than a 455? -Cody
Interesting to see the lie about Barrett Jackson. There were no '70's GS cars here. I wonder what the reserve is and I wonder what else is misrepresented in their ad.
[35,000 at Barret-Jackson 2 weeks ago] It must also have had that rare TH350 option with the 455  to make it worth so much! Harvey
Well I bid on this car. As far as a # matching, I don't think so. Checked some other sites. Their were no 455 cars with a t-350 built. I have e-mail set to the seller about the car. reserve has been met.
Those valve covers look like buick 350 covers, sounds like someone blew up the 455/TH400 and swapped in a 350/th350.
I'm jealous Leo, I'd REALLY like to have a blue deluxe interior car. I think that would be my second favorite right after the pearl white. Heck, if I saw one in person I'd probably like it better than the pearl white. Good luck!
I was thinking the same thing about that barret Jackson statement. I was glued to the T.V. for 6 or so hours each day watching that and I am pretty sure I would remember a GS going thru. Sure would love to have that car though. Hope someone gets it for a reasonable price.
I thought that engine was a little small for being a 455. I still love it though. Nice car. The funny thing is, they think they have a 455 under the hood:laugh: Unless it's another one of their lies Anyway, very nice project car/or a driver. -Cody
I looked at the barrett jackson web site. NO 70 GS's were sold at all. The car does have 455 in it . It is a 72-74 block. I have to admit it didn't look like one.
Understand I'm not knocking the car. For the right price...but it's almost past the right price already...
Well, at least something on the car is 455 related. Nice project for someone if they don't pay to much for the car. -Cody
