Does anyone know if the 1970 GS 455 had drums or disc brakes standard for front / back? I have owned the car for about 18 years and there are drums all around right now.

    Thanks

Drums were standard in '70, discs were optional.

the garage where it's at wants to charge me $3,000 to convert from drum to disc, any thoughts on if it's worth it or not?

Only you can decide that. I can think of better places to put 3K! How many hours labor were you quoted ? The parts are about $595.

    Suck,
Please add your city and state to your header info.....helpful because members will ask for your location.

Also, would be nice to add at least your first name to your signature line.

For a disc set-up......you can buy original set-ups for $250-300.
You will need a NEW master, new lines from master to hold-off valve or new lines from master to combo valve (used on 71-2 models)...I would suggest using the combo valve set-up.

If your car is all original, would be a good time to replace all suspension parts including new front springs.

Excellent info George. I have added my name / location to the signature line as well.
