Hey folks, I have a 70 GS 455 Convertible here for sale.

Here is what I know so far.
    -------------------------------

1970, real GS convert. Was originally a butternut color, or similar, now a very ugly green.
Needs a total restoration. Has rust, dents, missing some pieces, but what is there is pleasantly nice. The dash, for instance, is perfect. The rear seat and door panels also very nice. I'm unsure of the front seats, they have covers on them. The frame looks good and the undercarriage is not too bad.

I checked the the trunk, the floor is pretty rusty as well as the rear of the frame rails.

The convertible top is supposedly new. I have not looked at it. The boot looks new though. The previous owner had a strange course of order for his start at a "restoration".

The hood trim is wrong, and had a 72 grille. The correct 70 grille and bumper is included. Glass all looks good.

Auto, A/C, PS, PB, PW, fresh air hood, horseshoe console shift, bucket seats, rally steering wheel, tach. Chrome Rally wheels.

Now, the big question...original engine? Not in the car...BUT, it had a rod knock and was replaced with another 455 years ago, the previous owner had the foresight to keep the original engine! I have that too, and it goes with the car.

The car does run and drive currently. Not terribly well, but it runs. Title is clear.

The car is here at my shop now. It can be viewed, or inspected and authenticated by JW as well. He is here often. I will be checking the block numbers to verify that the original engine is indeed correct for the car.

Make no mistake, it needs a well deserved restoration. These cars are rare, and a convert is even more so.

Keep in mind, the original engine can be completely rebuilt, right here, by JW and myself. I do the machine work here, Jim does the build and dyno tuning. We can also handle the transmission as well. For that matter, JW could broker the complete restoration. You would not get a more "straight to the point" job done, if that's the route a guy wanted to go. There would not be many "middle-men".

I will post some pictures as soon as I can, or I can email them to anyone interested. I only have a few I took while it was on the flatbed. Speaking of which, delivery of this car is possible at a reasonable cost by flatbed, or by car hauler.

We are asking a very reasonable $6500.00 for the car, with the original engine.

Please call the shop if you are interested.

    Thanks, Ron,

Here is some pics. Sorry for the poor quality. I will post some interior pics too.

The front seats need covers, the rest look good.

I also have a front bumper and grille, which are quite nice and some headlight from bezels.

sorry, i have not been on here in a while. I've been swamped in the shop with no end in sight and have not had a chance to get more pics and such.

the car was originally a butternut or beige color.

That is possible. I will have to check the jambs. It's the world's worst paint job on it now.

Ok, I have verified that the extra engine that comes with the car is indeed the numbers matching engine. It is in a storage trailer about 30 miles from here.

I did did get the car running and drove it around the yard a little. It seems to have posi, (spins both tires on gravel). It actually runs quite nice. The transmission has a leak...possibly dipstick.

I'd like to get this car on to a buyer. It's taking up space and If I store it, it will sit for another many years,

Dropping the price on this to $5500.

Don't know how much lower I can go before it's worth more to part out.

I know someone looking for a GS convertible in this price range locally. Not an inter-web user. I would have an interest pending the cowl tag/VIN info. Can you get a shot of the cowl tag?

Sure. I will get one tomorrow. If it's easier, you can come up and look at it in person. I'm 5 miles from you in North Branch. :)

Oh, BTW, it's a legit GS and all that jazz. JW was here last week and looked at the tags.

That's what we were thinking. It's still that color in the jambs. I don't know how to decode these tags. Thanks!
