Still has the trans, shifter, block and 4 speed carb. If I had the ambition, money, space, time.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1970...4987314?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item2a2d1526b2
I almost bought this car in March. It was listed a day aftery birthday (the 11th) I called the 12th. Had plans to buy it that saturday (16th) but it was sold on wednesday the 13th. I never got a chance to see the thing but man I wanted it bad.
Looks like a thm 350 downshift cable sticking out of firewall ? Weird for a stick car? Maybe had automatic in it at one time. Wow it is rough!!
That would be the reverse light engagement rod The th350 kick down doesn't bother me as much as the condition. As with any rare car like this buyer be ware. He states he has the numbers matching engine and trans so it can be identified but make sure the vin hasn't been messed with. Then maybe check the frame numbers too. If someone was wanting to try to buy it. Way too rough for my skills.
OMG I would not go near that if I had all the money in China. Even the rug and the dash pad look rusty. Not to mention it looks like it was dragged behind a freight train for 5 miles. That car is ROUGH.
Who knew! So the neutral safety switch is on the column like an automatic too? (or maybe there was no such thing in 1970?)
It's darn near worth it for that fan shroud. That looks really nice. Too bad the rest of the car is toast.
With a 4 speed, there isn't a neutral safety switch, just a back up lamp switch. Putting the column in what would be "park", turns the reverse lights on. A stick car has a clutch safety switch connected to the clutch pedal. So you cant start the car without pressing the clutch in.
I can't quit looking at it thinking where are the pictures of the trunk and underside. It's really bad I'm sure and Ken could probably add to his spot on description. What was the previous asking price?
It was listed on craigslist for $4000 in March. The only thing the current owner did to it was throw on the front clip... I want this car.. o No:
Wow, I thought my GS cars were rough. Louie, I have to agree, this is the exact kind of car I've been known to drag home with the intention of saving. Ultra rare, cool options, and a total rustbucket.
Lol i just checked it and the gears in my head started turning but I'm done with the old buicks for now.. I think I have enough anyway. Time to save up for a G8 GT now that they are finally coming down to a price range I can afford. Louie
Ended at $5,110... To be honest I would have tried to buy that and a parts car currently listed on ebay if my G8 dreams weren't my number 1 priority. Whats cooler than a big block 4 speed convertible?
