    hello,

I just read somewhere that all reclining bucket seats came with a side release button rather than on the back. Is this true for 1970? can anyone who has a 1970 reclining bucket confirm this? Also for 1970 wildcat was 6 way power buckets optional? for drivers side & passenger side?

    1. Reclining passenger side bucket seat: '69 was the last year for the passenger side reclining strato bucket seat option in Skylarks & GSs. I am not sure about the full sized cars. In the Skylarks & GSs in '69 when equipped with the passenger side reclining strato bucket seat option, the passenger side used the '66-'68 style side button for the bucket seatback releases (not the "new for '69" center of the seatback release button otherwise used in regular '69-'72 strato bucket seats; and
    2. Power bucket seat: In '69 & ' 70, I recall that the strato power buckets were only 4 wayand only available on the driver side. The power 6 way seats were all bench (or later split bench).

My father ordered our 69 cat with reclining pass side bucket. It was a lever on the bottom side of the seat. The button on the side was for tilting seat forward, same as the 68.
I now have a 69 bucket seat Cat ( non recline) that must be a late build because the button is in the center of the seat back, same as the 70 ABody.

'69 A-body & B/E-bodies used the (then) new seatback release button on the center back of the strato bucket seatback shell (and strato bench seatback shell) when there was no recliner option. When equipped with the (passenger) reclining bucket seat option, the reclining passenger strato bucket seat release button was the side button (same as the '68).
