I think he's referring to the hood tach and the tach in the console.

    Now I see it! :Dou:
With the glare I didn't notice it at first.
There are lot's of little things incorrect, but that could just be contributed to an uneducated owner.

Isn't this (was this) collector's car? It is a non stage car if so.

Yup, it is my car. If you all remember, back this summer I mentioned that I may be downsizing and selling off some cars. Dan approached me previous to this announcement and I agreed to let him market the car. However, he just can't seem to get it right. I have told him many times that the car is NOT a Stage 1, and about 3 months ago I told him to forget marketing it for me. Interesting that it is still out there.... It is a non Stage 4 speed frame-off car with 95% original sheetmetal and all matching numbers. The pedigree with this car is that it is the next to last 1970 GSX built and the very last 4 speed 1970 GSX built. No mention of this important fact in his ad. :error: In the very near future I will put this car on E Bay to see who is out there who would like to add this milestone GSX to their collection. And, I have a twist planned too but you'll have to wait to see what this is! Move over, Mark and the Motion car!! :bglasses:

Oh, and the console tach is my signature with yellow GSX 4 speeds. I have had about 4 yellow GSX 4 speed cars over the last 30 years and the first one I owned back in the early 70s. ( A Stage 1 4 speed car ) I was racing this car and it was hard to read the hood tach at night at the track. So, I had this tach sitting around and have kept it all these years. And, it seems to have found it's way into all 4 of these cars, so naturally I had to add it to this one too just to remind me of the good ole days! ( No, it won't go with this car either! )

John, Isn't this the car you told me that actually came with 4 wheel drum from the factory? Pretty sure this car was the one I saw at your house.

Well, we thought so. Wayne is looking at the records again and thinks he MAY have made a mistake. For sure at least one of the last GSXs built came with drum brakes and we know which one it is. This one MAY be a second one. I should have the final answer by the weekend. Interesting stuff, huh?

Yesterday I was speaking to Tommy White at Aloha Automotive. These guys are famous for Mopar Restorations! He told me one of clients bought a 4-speed Stage 1, 1970 X. The car needs a total restoration. If I told you what his client paid for the car, some of you may be surprised. It was a boat load.

His last comment was "The Buick X cars are just awesome, and are do for upside appreciation." Take it for what its worth. :)

Somewhere between 100k-200k John. Plus another 100k according to him to do the resto!

He believes the Cudas have run their course for a while. But considers alot of upside in the rare Hemi and 440-6-pack Challengers with the new ones coming out in the next 18 months or so. He says the prices on good 65-66 Shelbys are really strengthing with the return of the Shelby 500. Predicts the same for the Challenger.

When I bought my X early in 05. I feel I was one of the Mopar guys getting on these cars before any real moves to the upside. According to Tommy. I'm not the only Mopar car guy interested in the X cars. Their awesome!

Again. Take it for what its worth. :Do No:

    Grab the money and RUN.

These cars will not stay at these high prices forever.

I have been out of town for the last 3 weeks and away from a PC the whole time, but a reliable source told me that there was a white GSX 4 speed on E Bay a few weeks back and the owner ended the auction early because he had a 275K offer. Does anyone know anything about that?

It's really hard to second-guess the market. Paul says take the money and run and the other school of thought is that today's high prices will look dirt cheap in a few more years for the specialty market like GSXs. Who knows.....

John- I think your talking about Jim Shiels' white X. He's "THE GSX" on the board.
