    Congrat's Bob,

That is one awesome car, the true meaning of "Show and Go"

I was there when the Diabo's first took the car to Napierville Dragway in the mid 90's. I had my head buried under the hood of my 69 Cuda when I heard the GSX start, then I saw it back out of the trailer. I had to get a closer look, I put down my tools and walked straight across the pits to check it out.

I saw it turn some low 10's that day and I know it did turn high 9's after a little tweaking.

It was that car that got me hooked on Buick's and the reason I'm building an Apollo white GSX clone.

Believe me, If I had the extra cash that car would be in my garage right now.

    Enjoy the ride :TU:

Englishtown is on the radar, but more than likely spring Musclepalooza @ Lebanon Valley will be its "re-debut", other than the local track this fall.

The wiring is a mess (anyone know anything about that, cough cough??!! :) ), and I want to fix a lot of the annoying things that were let go for whatever reason.

We did a full detail on the car yesterday, and it looks awesome!

I fixed the turn signals and headlights, aligned the hood and adjusted the latch to get the hood to open like it should, and moved the gauges a bit on the pillar bar to make steering easier (interfered with my moose knuckles).

I need to get a forward light harness to make the wipers functional, I want to fix the horn, move the switch panel to the roll bar where you can actually reach it when strapped in, completely re-wire under the dash and clean up the mess down by the starter and replace the trans cooler lines.

I've installed new floor mats from Legendary and a new re-pop overflow bottle, changed the plugs and shortened the plug wires and routed them properly (#1 was laying on the header and burned through), new MSD cap and rotor, VR1 20w-50 oil and Wix/Napa Gold oil filter 1258, by-pass hose and K&N air filter.

I'm also going to install an aluminum radiator for reliability and weight savings, and I need to modify the roll cage to make getting in and out easier. I need to take the family to get ice cream too!

    Bob:

Congrats on the car! Looks great - I'd like to see it in person some Saturday afternoon; I can drive down to your place.

I looked for you at the Nationals, but couldn't find your car. Where were you parked?

BTW - What's the shop you referred to in your post (3 hours away...)?

    Paul,

We were parked on the first "side street" to the left of Indian Village, as looking in from State Fair Blvd. Each year, you have to get there earlier and earlier to get a good spot. 7100 cars this year :eek2: !

    The machine shop is:

    D & D Performance
    229 Main N
    Chesterville, ON K0C 1H0
    (613) 448-3502

Let me know when you're ready for a Saturday road trip!

Hey Bob, Glad to hear you made it safely through the bad weather.

Well it was hard watching the Buick roll away on the trailer Saturday. I must say that its going to a great family. It was a pleasure meeting and spending time with you and your family. I know you will truly enjoy your new car. Please send me some pictures and keep me updated when you take the car to the track.

    Thank you,
    Joe

I was cleaning out some old pictures and came across these - a future racer (Joe's daughter), and me finishing up loading the car under the watchful eyes of Joe and my son:

Not yet, James. Between commitments last fall, minor mechanical issues and never ending rain, it just didn't happen. We were ready (new slicks, plugs. fresh oil, race gas, etc), but just couldn't get there. Then the Barry Grant 400 fuel pump leaked and by the time I got it out, down to Georgia for repairs and back, I think it was 3 weeks  .

It is truly amazing the power and acceleration this car has, as well as it's street manners. I drove it on a daily basis to work and back for over a month, when the weather permitted :) . A 3-2 downshift blast @ 65 WILL break the 295-65-15 MT drag radials loose. :eek2:
