Hi guys. I have a 70 Buick GS Stage 1 car that was my father in laws. I’m trying to get it on the road again. I’m trying to figure out what parts of the drivetrain are stage 1 The motor is not original. It’s a 1973 - 455 by the numbers. The transmission appears to be a 1970, it’s has 1970 BB code. I mostly checking on the rear axle. I can’t find any codes on it. Any help or suggestions would much appreciated. Thanks.

Look on the passenger side tube of the rear end facing the front of the car. Have some lacquer thinner ready to clean off the gunk. The code is typically stamped in this area.

I've seen examples on the driver's side too as well as on the botton (both sides).

Ok thanks for the help. I found several numbers but the I one needed at the end. Pics listed below. If I’m reading this correct is a 71-72 rear?? Is 355 1 the gear ration?

That would be an 8.5 10 bolt. Good rear, easy to get parts for it. Not like the 68-70 Buick 8.2 10 bolt.
