yes this is the same car that was on the v8buick forums way back in 2008, but I honestly didn't know that... everyday when I get up the first thing I do is go on craigslist and punch in buick GS and that day somewhere around aug 2008 this car popped up for sale in madison NJ... so I emailed and heard nothing for a week figured it was gone...then steve errichetti called he was short on the phone so I left right away and met him when I saw the car i started asking ?s about where it came from ? he really wouldn't say ? so I checked the #s only on the block and to my SURPRISE they were all there I couldn't believe it!! a real stage 1 4 speed thats not blown up can't be ? it was missing the orig carb distributor and had headers on it but everything was there, he had a lot of paperwork too the orig protecto plate which he couldn't read or understand he had 3/4 of the paper that I have today... I've been around buicks since 1979 with my brother glenn and have never seen or bought a real 70 or 71 stage stick in my life i knew right there I wanted it.. next is the price we finally agreed on 21 grand but he wouldn't shake on it? wouldn't take a deposit? he said he would tow it home for me too even though it ran it was in no cond to drive!! so he said call the next day and I did.. right before I left a guy came up out of nowhere and started to argue with steve and left real mad ?? I said what happed ? he said thats my partner who really doesn't want to sell the car ? so I came back the next day with a flat bed because he changed his mind to help me out and I bought the car.. I gave steve errichetti 2 checks 1 in his name and the other in chris nashs name both for 10500 each I have the copies it was sold on 8/12/08.this next part is mind blowing on my way home I get a call from a guy who was on the car dropping f bombs on me saying it was his car who am I ? basically freaking out and hanging up ? then when I got home I get another call from a guy his name was neil grant didn't know him he said he saw the car and offered a price but didn't get it....out of space check the next thread>>>>>>

continued>> we stayed in touch nice guy he saw the car done in atlantic city feb 2010 he was blown away !! so yes steve sold me the car or as I say I SAVED this 1 of a kind GS STAGE 1 from a DODGE guy !!!! he was just a peddeler looking to make a buck on super rare car he knew nothing about.... ALSO I almost forgot when steve handed me the title it was a florida title which it still is, it had james ruddy as the owner? I said who is this ? he said his partner got the car off him AND DON'T call him so what did I do when I got home I got information in sarsota FL and eventually got his # THIS NEXT PART will answer the 2 owner questions ?? IT TOOK AWHILE but james ruddy finally called and wanted to know why I called ??? I said I bought the car...he was puzzled and asked from who ?? I said steve and chris he said for how much ? and I said 21 grand !!! he freaked out to the point of hanging up I told him to relax and try and tell me what happened ?? he said he lost his garage in NJ and had no choice but to sell the car to he says he thinks chris I asked how much and he said 8500.00 !!! I laughed and said don't worry its in good hands now ! and that's how my relationship with james ruddy started we talked and talked on the phone forever BUT he would call and I HAD TO call him back to save him money we would only talk on sunday nights why I don't know he is a nice guy but deep down he was upset about the price I paid so I starded to ask about if he had ANYTHING else for the car ?? like pictures or parts ?? I said I would pay him for anything he had and he started to warm up real fast he gave the orig radio the orig keys gave me pics of the little fender bender he was involved and gave me a big blown up picture of the car and him back in the day which i paided dearly for he also wrote in his handwriting a hand written story about when he got the car and so on>>> but the biggest thing he gave me matt pericols phone # the original owner he bought the car from !!!! he said he actually offered him the car back !!! but said he didn't want it.... when I tried to contact the name on the protecto plate it was in his fathers name mario pericola >>> continued

---------- Post added at 11:59 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:37 AM ----------

continued so when I first called and asked for mario matt said he was dead !! just like that ! I was floored apologized and said I had the car... he was hesitant at first but we agreed to meet in his home town at a bar he chose ...we met and he invited me and my girlfriend back to his house he said he had some things he found we talked for an hour he had the 4 orig dog dish hubcaps !! and he brought down from his attic some of the original paperwork from new the sales contract finance contract the sales invoice the original brochure !!! and a few other things he had saved I WAS BLOWN AWAY AND HAPPY then even matt said he needed something so he wanted 500 dollars for everything I smiled and said sure I would have gave a grand !!! I got pictures of me and matt and the paperwork that day>> we have since seen each other several more times... including the time I brought the car up to him I drove it up there !!! a 150 mile ride round trip!!! I wanted him to see the car ... A MAN AND HIS MACHINE 41 YEARS LATER his old friends were there along with his new wife he said it was better than day it was new ... he calls all the time to check in and talk about the times with his GS so to answer your question STEVE H YES IT IS A 2 OWNER CAR I have real proof 2 real owners who are still alive and paperwork to back it up I am tech the 3rd owner but I would rather say SAVIOR the car is still in james ruddys name on a FL title dated back to 95 theres so much more about this car this was just alittle piece that i'm glad to pass along to all you buick heads out there on v8buick.com...... YOU HAVE TO BE A WORM WHEN YOU BUY A CAR LIKE THIS NEVER STOP DIGGING AND DIGGING EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO GIVE MONEY SO WHAT !!! TO BE ABLE TO LEARN THE WHOLE HISTORY OF A CAR IS WHAT WE ALL STRIVE FOR THANKS AND GOD BLESS GREGG

    Gregg,
it sounds like you have a significant investment in your car. I think you are making a HUGE mistake not titling the car in your name for the semantics of stating two owners. I do not think you are adding any "value" by doing so and putting yourself at risk. By your own admission depending on flippers you are the 4th or 5th owner. What if the persons who's name is titled decides to come collect their car ?

On a lesser scale depending on your state you're required to title your car in 30 days of purchase and can be liable for tax penalties for each MONTH they are delinquent. Five years worth that would be $$$$.

I think you have a great car with history. To a purchaser having complete owner history is more important then passing along unsigned titles. Or at the risk of making false statements.

    Best Regards,
    DL

Re: 1970 buick GS STAGE 1 4SPEED 364 REAR 2 OWNER CONCOURSE THORNTON FRAME OFF THE BE

thanks for your reply guys to this BUT I AM A USED CAR DEALER IN NEW JERSEY been so for over thirty years and by law I can keep the car in the second owners name for as long as I want.... when I use the car which is hardly ever I run a dealer plate.....when I sell the car if that happens I reassign the car to the new owners using a dealer reassignment, then I would be the 3rd owner, and the new buyer would be the 4th owner all I was saying is that I have proof that james ruddy was the SECOND OWNER OF THIS CAR he bought it off matt pericola who was the first owner ..... the guys steve and chris who peddled the car to me they never titled the car so in theory they never owned the car.... thats where you get JUMPING TITLES FROM..... believe me I've been around the block a few times in my life ....i have already signed the back of the title so james ruddy is not liable for the car anymore...I just want people to know that this GRAND SPORT HAD ONLY 2 OWNERS then me the guy who rescued it from the dead.... if I was just a person who wasn't a registered dealer then YES you would be right and I should put it into my name.... BUT I DO HAVE THE SECOND OWNERS TITLE RIGHT NOW DATED 1995 ... like I always say you can't have enough PROOF BUT i do ...a copy of a title is great but the real thing is even better !!! so to make my self clear whoever gets this car WILL GET THE SECOND owner title with my dealer reassignment and my dealerships name on the back which is GREGG GLENN AUTO SALES which is me GREGG DAVIDIAN AND MY BROTHER GLENN DAVIDIAN... WE OWN THE CO. have owned it with my father since the seventys .... and the MAIN reason for this how many times and stories do we get from people who say this and that who can't produce real people and #s for us to call and check who lie and BS us to death I did all THE HARD WORK I pushed and grinded out the phone calls met the original owner dug and dug and got the REAL DOCUMENTS and paid dearly so the next guy could get the real honest story and be confident when passing on honest info and having #s to back it up..GREGG

I'm sorry for all the drawn out replys BUT I AM PASSIONATE about the hobby and paperwork ...what's the first thing people ask about you about when it comes to stage 1s for sale ??? what kind of paperwork do you have ?? not BHS paperwork but the real kind the kind you get when you buy the car new... we've all seen it guys who restore cars and DON'T have real paperwork guys who just have BHS paperwork and no REAL history with cars ...guys who think the motor is real BUT really don't know ?? who think trans is the orig one but don't really know ?? the same for the rear... that's why IT'S SO IMPORTANT and in the buick WORLD nothing says real MORE THAN PAPERWORK ..... AND my GRAND SPORT has 32 pieces of real paperwork documents, keys, stories, pictures, #s matching, I'm not saying I have the most paperwork ever ...but I'M sure I have enough that would satisfy the most picky of collectors out there... thanks again GREGG

Well, yes, I am that Neil and am not sure the relevance of my minor role in this. I saw the car in Madison, was told by one owner of the 21k offer made to the other owner. I then offered more, thinking I'd have a shot...then the owner got back to me and said the other owner had already accepted the lower offer and wouldn't renege...and I suppose I can't blame him for keeping his word.

Yes I did meet Gregg in AC after he had the car restored, and yes as others have said he's a good guy....but I must confess to a sort of jealousy/envy feeling...as I'm sure many of you sometimes feel in these situations of being too late to an opportunity of a lifetime.

And no, I didn't do any cussing. I probably wanted to but that's not my style. Must have been other jealous fellas.

So I'm still looking and not getting any younger.

Very nice car! And a very interesting story and if I may add I think I know/knew this car back in the day, late 70's. I never met the owner but I do remember seeing a white Stage one four speed with a black interior in the area. How many could there have been? And after seeing the POP the original owner was in the neighboring town. And just for an added kicker my car came from the same dealer, Vey Buick-Cadilliac in Rockaway NJ. They could have been on the lot together!

Just saying who cares how many owners a car has ,as long as the 15 owners cared for it the same way and didn't ruin it it's the same car as one that has two owners that cared the same. If I had the money and wanted a car I wouldn't care how many owners it had!! I love the car by the way!!!

Not a big deal Greg, but its Gran Sport, not Grand Sport. And in 70, it was just a GS.

And BTW I saw the car that the Stage 1 Nationals in Ohio, very nice!
