There were just 1,416 GS convertibles made in 1970 (none were GS350), but there were 4,954 Skylark convertibles made in the same year. Seems to me any 70' GS455/GS 455 Stage 1 convertible in decent condition can't be had for below $60K and many are $100K+.

Why not get a Skylark 350 convertible in nice condition, around $20K and spend $10K to build/install a 455 with 400+ hp? For another $3K, get a GS hood (painted) and emblems. Plus a little here and there for exhaust, brake/suspension upgrade, etc.

Not sure how authentic you want to be, but maybe you could drive your dream car for less than $40K.

They are still out there, I will wait for the right one and the right opportunity. Thanks for your reply.

Dealer and most auction prices will remain out of reach for most for the next few years.

Though, you might get lucky at a low audience auction, person to person is usually the better way for more realistic sales prices. That can take an enormous amount of research and digging every day to find that "unicorn" nobody knows about. Reaching out through the Buick networks can help tremendously.

That's why I mentioned the non-borne on option, with the convertible Skylark...

That's mostly what I have, opinions - few facts...
