What was different about them from a standard Mustang? Special interior features, just the color? I am curious. I dont see any bold 7-up graphics or anything that stands out.

It was basically a promotion that never came to pass and Ford got stuck with all these emerald green, white top, white interior cars. They're informally called 7up cars

Honestly, I think it was just the colors and the association with 7up.

    1972Mach1 Just some M.M.O.G. guy.....

It's an LX 5.0 convertible with special leather interior, matching top, GT turbine wheels,, and special Emerald Green paint. Like a GSX to a GS, an appearance package with no real performance advantage, and yes, sponsored by 7up from what I remember. They also made a special edition all white convertible in '93. (Just googled the 7up to check my facts and were only supposed to be 30 of them made as giveaways at the NCAA tournament, which was sponsored by 7up. Ended up making 5000 of them when the promotion was cancelled).

Pontiac did that with the Solstice.
SCCA T2 champion edition - 2008 GXP version (turbo charged) with special stitching in the seats, emblems and stripes and only came in yellow. Limited to 250 cars.
SCCA SB champion edition - 2008 Standard Solstice with special stitching in the seats, emblems and stripes, only came in red. Limited to 250 cars.
Street edition -2009 Unique wheels and stripes and a few other mods. Limited to 500 cars.
First 1000 - Only for the 2006 model, was supposed to be for the first 1000 Solstice produced but they actually were not.

All marketing campaigns to sell more cars.

It was a 7-up promotion for the NCAA final four for 1990. Ford build roughly 30 Deep Jewel Emerald Green Clearcoat Metallic (longest paint name in Ford's history) to be given away. The cars had the green paint (first time in use) with white leather GT seats, GT wheels, body color moldings and mirrors, and a white convertible top.

The only options were AOD or 5-speed and the rear axle. The promotion never happened, no one knows what happened to the 30 cars and then Ford put them in production and made 4,103 of them. Some were exported, about 260 I think, and I believe 10 of them became Saleen cars. See below.

Below is the documentation and promotional materials that I have. Sorry - I know this is a Buick site and I do have 2 of them, but this car kind of fell in my lap when I lived in Arizona in 1994 and I thought it had a neat story.

The title of the add is very deceptive. He probably bought the car then did his homework and wants out with his money now. A con man conned.

The ad says Skylark in the title. Let the buyer beware.
