MY LASTEST PROJECT CAR IS DONE AND CAN BE YOURS!
It is a 1970 Buck Skylark GS 350 clone. I purchased this car 4 months ago from the wheelz who bought it from the originalqwner. The "Granny car" only has 90,340 miles. 285 hp 350-2, auto, black bucket interior, column shift. A/C. Power windows. Excellent black dash pad too! Original mint steering wheel and the original rear view mirror. Looks BRAND NEW. This car even has an original desirable BUICK TRI SHIELD PASSENGER SIDE OUTSIDE MIRROR!!! I did get a fairly complete history of this car from the grandson of the original owner. ...and the BEST PART . .its RUST FREE. PERIOD. This car was undoubtedly garage kept all its life. No signs of ever being damp in the trunk what-so-ever. Solid floors. VERY solid doors. No rust under the original vinyl top at all! Rust free fenders and quarter panels! Original carpet. Original and perfect headliner. Original bucket seats. Superior runner. Good chrome. 1970 GS Grille. Glass is clear and non fogged! After the original owner purchased in 1970 she put 90,000 miles on it in 14 years. Then she parked it and it sat in HER garage for over 22 years!! Then in the grandsons garage until 4 months ago when I bought it and had it towed to my place. Now, I have performed a ton of work since I got it. New complete brake system: master, wheel cylinders, lines, shoes etc. Oil change, transmission fluid change. The tank was dropped and cleaned. The radiator was flushed and replenish. Complete engine tune up. RUNS EXCELLENT. Shifts smooth. Cold A/C. Drive anywhere. After all the mechanicals were complete I turn my attention to the outside of the car. I purchased a VFN fiberglass GS hood for the car. I just didn't like the original Seamist green paint so I disassembled the whole car and painted it 2 stage Silver. I then color sanded it with 1500 grit paper and then again with 3000 grit paper for a slick as s--t finish. I then reassembled all the parts after cleaning them and installed new GS emblems. All new weather stripping was then installed. Doors, trunk, window felt, door bumpers, trunk bumpers, hood bumpers. All the little stuff that makes the car look new again. I then painted the whole underside of the car with Eastwood chassis paint. The engine compartment was painted at the same time. I painted the trunk with spackle paint and installed a new trunk mat. I detailed the interior and installed new sill plates, interior door handles, lock knobs. I then bought some 15 inch steal wheels and painted them the same color as the car. The original POVERTY CAPS that came with the car where reinstalled along with some trim rings. Brand New Coker Red Line radial tires were then installed on the rims. Then I had a brand new dual exhaust installed just last sat. Only 80 miles on the car since completion. But I will drive it some until it is sold. I might as well enjoy it while I can. This car was ordered from Adcock Buick here in St. Petersburg Fl. and spent all of it's life in Fl. The original owner ordered it with bucket seats, column auto, GS rocker moldings, a/c, power windows, brakes, steering. This will make someone a very nice cruise car and local show car. Just start it and drive. It drives very smooth. It even has the original spiral shocks on the car.
