For those who never seen these the salesmens facts book is about the best single reference you can get for any year - and the colour and trim book enhances that info and literially gives the feel and touch along with interior codes/colours and accessories etc - is the exteroir/top selector and price guide inserts there for these? - we missing the price guide for the libarary copy.

Sure would nice to see scans of the service bulletins sent into the All Buicks Library before they go the Salemens facts book is already in the libarary (already have photos of the Color and trim too just not processed yet, 71/72 service bulletions and more are also in the works).

The Libraries are “Contributors Only” and this would make great addition to what is already there.
They would be your ticket for full libraries membership, and you will get back cleaned up, searchable bookmarked copies for your future use. Plus you get can additional pubs, members shared downloads and videos as you progress thru the contributors levels.
Use The Donate Documents to set up your contributor’s folder and send in just about any you can. formats from raw page scans, photo even to finished pdfs will work.

    Scanning tips
Around 300 dpi works best for character recognition of small text (150 is ok for large text) any higher than 300 just takes longer to scan.
When scanning getting things straight is the main thing (I can correct this but its very time consuming).
Use the same setting for all pages and do pages in order including backs of covers and any blank pages so the flip books will be close as possible to flipping thru the real thing. - exposure etc are much easier to correct if the scans are consistent go for clarity of text/pictures above color of page for old documents, usually default scanner setting work out just fine. Your going get to shadows along seams of some books - weighing the page your scanning down along the seam can really reduce this an stops distortion of the text. and is much easier on the seam of you book than pressing down on it - for books in binders take the pages out (especially if using camera)
    - for books to large for scanners or for those that dont have scanners - using a tripod and camera can get great results set one leg longer and weight it down to get the camera directly over the pub without shadows or set camera on table edge to steady and keep things parallel - use indirect light to reduce glare rather than flash - and the highest resolution setting of your camera.
i can work with what your scanner outputs - if your scanner has auto crop it often crops to text area - better to set it for page size or with camera beyond the pub - scan so whole page shows I'd rather crop the edges than have cut off different size pages (I end up doing that anyway if any straightening is needed, and scanners especially those that save to PDF always make some page crooked).

    Rob,

The exterior colors and top selection section is in there, but no price guide.

As to copies of documents in the service binder, that book is hundreds of pages. It would take a long time to scan that all in.

These are very good books to have. There is so much usable information in them. I bought one for my '74 Stage 1 and was amazed at the info inside.

I know I've done thousands of pages burnt out 2 scanners already - it usually takes 2-3 times as long to clean and prep them for the library as does the scanning - but once done we all have a searchable bookmarked source of great info - the service bulletins are something very usefull and not many copies out there.

Dont have the 74 in library either......would be another great addition people scanning these things are the only the library will grow.

Mark, What is in the Service Bulletin binder? And would you sell just it separate?

I have the other two items.

    Thanks,
