1970 BBB Engine Frame Mount Color?

Just about to begin restoring the frame.... I have seen different pics of completed frames. Perhaps the pictures I have seen are with the Aluminum aftermarket engine frame mounts? I want to restore this 1970 Skylark frame just the way it rolled off the essembly line. What is the correct color, I assume black.... just as the frame.

I beleive they were just cast iron gray as put on after frame was painted.
