I have the above air cleaner that was sand blasted, primed and painted semi-gloss black. There is a few minor pits that can still be seen if you really look for them. Overall very nice air cleaner assembly. Includes all that is seen and the air cleaner element and the new "embossed" 455 sticker. I tested the vacuum pots - One was good and the other must be leaking or doesn't work. It would not close. This would not really be an issue as I can't imagine anyone would be driving these cars in cold weather. Because of the bad vacuum pot I am willing to sell for $300+ shipping (price reduced to $260 + shipping). This thing look nice!

Can't these threads be deleted once an item is sold? What a waste of time reading these to find out something sold!

Just look at the original post date before you bother to read it.

That means nothing. Something could be posted and sold three days later after receiving 10 posts. Then a guy starts reading on day 4 only to find out it was sold in the 10th post.

Why not just lock them once sold or change the title to "SOLD" in the title? This information is great of historical reference and for pricing.

I spend and have spent a lot of time on "V8 Buick" and have gotten a lot of great information and bought a lot of good parts. I agree that it would be helpful if we could somehow clearly mark or archive threads when an item has sold. Maybe this could become a voluntary responsibility of each seller. Our moderators might want to establish a uniform method that would be simple and helpful to both buyers and sellers.

Of course the posts with multiple items for sale and car part outs would be more difficult to deal with. I see a lot of sellers already clearly mark items when sold and that is very helpful.

Normally, I open the V8 Buick page and quickly browse the new posts especially when I'm searching for a part. I do this without regard for when they were originally posted I just look at the title. I have seen items that were originally posted more than a year prior and the seller will return and post ttt or similar to get it back on the "new posts" page which is a legitimate practice. Therefore, looking at the original post date is not a surefire method of screening out the sold items.

I enjoy this page and the people here have helped me to get my GS back on the road. Also, I've met a lot of nice folks!

I am NOT being an anonymous internet smart aleck or a critic. Just offering a suggestion to possibly make a good thing even better.

Thanks to all of you honest, responsible sellers who follow through and keep your wordl Integrity is so very important to each and every one of us!

Thanks to all of the members who are kind with their posts/responses especially when someone is new or has made what they believe to be an error or a misstep. No one likes to be criticized in any shape form or fashion. It is far too easy on the internet for people to "take shots" at one another and it breeds bitterness. Our world has enough negative, what we need is more people with a heart for the well-being of others. I see a lot of folks on this board who strive to be helpful, patient and kind and I sincerely appreciate each of them!

Also, a big thank you to all of the moderators who voluntarily take the time and make the effort to keep this page current, organized and incredibly helpful to us Buick folks!

Thanks to all and let's keep going fast with class!

I agree that some of these things should be archived.. HOWEVER, this is what many sellers AND buyers use as "guides" to judge what an item is worth. It also helps when there is an issue that arises over cost, condition, etc...
If there is a section that needs to be "cleaned up", it should be the eBay and leads section!! LOL.
