Who has the best seals and what color is the correct foam supposed to be? What would the correct NOS set part numbers be? Thanks for the help.

1970 Stage 1 Thought Then& now made the best? I just bought an NOS set of of club member witch are excellent. But my car is 72. Different Foam. But they are like in real good shape but the pain on one was screwed up. Not worried . I matched the paint Buick or(vendor) had on them. I matched DuPont Vinyl paint . Gonna touch mine up. Meaning with a trowel or some thing. I think they just layed them in Paint. Unless another club member knows the process in witch they did. Anyway to get to the point . If their is a (DuPont) code or number on can I will be sure to post it on this thread tomorrow night. So if you buy aset off of Cars or opgi or club member or on eBay . At least you'll have the NOS color on them . Witch I guarantee the aftermarket people won't match. If I forget PM me if you care about color match. Looks to be the same product on the foam too. Regular paint won't work on foam.

Original foams were a grayish with a slight green yellow tint. Now and then are very close. Others no so close. For fixing missing outer skin why not try plastic coat? You can get it at most hardware stores. I woul bet if you brushed on a light coat it would look factory. You could test it on a scrap piece of foam. I woul bet it woul be cheaper route as well.

I found some NOS ones in the GM boxes. They match the color of the ones that are on the car now. Thanks

Be careful with NOS. They are often for a 350 which are taller than 455. They can be cut down however.

They are and they will be trimmed. They match the color of the ones on the car now. What is the best method to trim them without damage?

Dave's idea is good. Just make sure cut side is glued down. Sounds like common sense but I have been known to make boneheaded mistakes like that.

You said what I thought would work. Thanks. What thickness is correct?

Yeah? What is the GO TOO measurement when cutting these down? Have seen some cut to short ! Don't like that look! Unless they had a B4B intake and wasn't paying attention

I searched on EBay for Ram Air seals and bought a set. They were 455 height correct. The foam was a white / yellow color. When I unpacked them they had the centers filled with another foam piece. Turns out they are 70's NOS parts. Thanks for the advice Jim.
