I have a 1970 Buick Estate Wagon, fullsize, It is a 6 passenger, however, I have a 3rd seat from a 1965 Chevy wagon, my question is, will this seat fit with minimal modification, Or does anyone have technical drawings from a parts catalog for the third seat, or a manual of some sort? Thanks.

I bought several parts from a person earlier this year that came off of a 1970 Estate Wagon with very, very low miles. I think it was a 3 seat wagn and he was trying to sell parts from it. If you are interested, then that guy (with the Estate Wagon) can be reached through Donny1973 (Donny is his name) here on this board. Donny will help you contact him. The parts I bought were really, really nice and evidence of how nice the donor car was ... the guy bought the wagon soley for the 370HP SF code engine it had in it. The interior was a dark brown, I believe.

It's sad to hear of a perfectly good car that is carved up because of someone wanting just one or two parts from it. I have seen this time and time again and while it doesn't make any sense to me, but I guess that is just how it is. It's too bad that someone didn't purchase the car from him and just put another engine into it.

As for the third seat fitting a six passenger, two seat wagon, it is highly unlikely that it will fit without a whole lot of drilling, blasting and cutting. I tried to add a third seat to our '70 Pontiac Catalina wagon some years ago and as I recall, it meant cutting the rear floor section out of my Pontiac and welding in the rear floor area from the nine passenger wagon that I pulled the rear seat out of. It seemed like a somewhat intimidating job to me then and I still wouldn't attempt it although a lot of guys would I guess. I also encountered this with a '72 Olds Vista Cruiser wagon that I used to own. It was a six passenger car and I bought another car for parts that had the third seat. The rear floor pans were entirely different. So I think that you are stuck with just two seats unless you want to get into some really major surgery.
