I'm looking to upgrade the rear-end, but not sure where to go with it- I don't even know what is in it now! I'm sure it's all stock, but would like to step it up a few notches. i would also like to convert it to a posi...any recommendations and places to buy?

I would find a 71/72 8.5 posi and install that. No c clip rear end and plenty strong I have one 2 with 373 gears one has light duty S 10 posi unit one is standard clutch posi . Shipping would be expensive plenty built or have your 8.2 rebuilt parts are available to convert it and choose your gear I think there is a thread here about 342 gear sets

If you have the stock rear, it will be the 68-70 Buick 8.2 10 bolt. There is not much aftermarket support for that rear. Contact Monzaz on this board. He may be able to help you with a posi and gears.

I am asking / Bugging Brad to do another run of 3.42 gears. Seems the Richmond sell out and purchase may make this a WAIT AND SEE issue. Jim

You need to figure out the exaCT REAR YOU HAVE (POST PICTURES OF THE REAR ON LINe)
Next you need to find out the ratio in the rear (this is to help you figure out where you want to go and how far.)
