    Merry Christmas everyone!

Yesterday me and my brother did a header install and full exhaust on my skylark. When we started it to hear that beautiful sound, it would not turn off.

I kept trying to put the key back in and try different positions with the ignition, but it never turned off. My brother unplugged the battery, but it still ran. We had to unplug the coil.

When the header was installed, we did play with the positive wire on the starter, but just bent it out of the way. I am not sure what we could have done to make this problem happen.

As a a side note, the "GEN" light is always on in the car as well, even if there is no key in the ignition. It always lit now, for some reason.

    Thanks!

Make sure that positive wire isn't grounding out and closing a circuit.

On the points cars there is a wire that goes from the starter to the coil and it should be only active when the starter relay is on. I believe it goes to the I post on the starter relay, I will check a manual to be sure. It bypasses the resistor wire providing 12v to the points. There should be about 9 volts normally. It must be shorted to the battery "big" post on the relay.

Does the engine have an MSD ignition box?

I would think ignition switch .do you have 1 wire on both small terminals on starter? Somehow your system is feeding power back to ignition bypassing switch. Do you have the right alternater? Regulator? I would look at that since light is on.if you have an internal regulated alternater with a separate regulator that can cause problems. bad regulator can be problem to

I'd put money here. BTDT, shorting to the battery terminal on the solenoid.

Wires at the power post area were touching the accessory stud, causing ignition 100% of the time, all the time.

I tell you what... Some doug long tube headers with this new american thunder full dual h pipe exhaust... sounds AMAZING!
