1969 Skylark Moulding bolts or clips? 1969 Skylark Moulding bolts or clips to fasten side trim and also what type holds trunk trim?
I know the front 2 side spear pieces are mounting bolts the back 2 i assume are push in, no way to tighten these with bolts and the rear pieces i am not sure got to look closer, can't believe there is nothing here on these.
The side moldings use a combination of plastic sliding clips that mount onto existing studs on the body, as well as sliding clips with posts that mount through holes in the body. These are usually at the ends of the longer sections.
I will take a pic of what i have on mine and you appear to be correct i have plastic ones on the rear but i do not want to weld studs on the body i will look to see if "cars" has some other type that might work also do the same ones that go on front spear go on trunk moulding?
Only the first pic looks like what I had on my 69 molding. The other were plastic. If I can find 1 I'll post a pic.
Here's a pic of the 2 types of clips that were holding the trim on the sides. I decided not to put the side molding back on. We ground off the studs and filled in the holes.
I'll have to retake my pics but the one you have is exactly what was on the back 2 pieces of trim, i ordered some fasteners from "Cars" and will post the part# if they work and thanks for you're help.ray:
when i get home i will post the part #'s for those bought them from CARS, and i will take pics of em.
