*Not sure it it's ok to post this here per board rules .if not please tell me and I will delete** This was on ebay and ended 3days ago. Owner still has it and wants $4k. I know nothing about Rivieras as I want it just to swap out the power bucket seat and passenger recliner then resell as a whole with regular buckets out of my 69 gs400. Any thought
If all you want are the seats, why not just try to track those down and not mess with this car? Seems like a lot of bother for just seats. Can you post a link to the ad? Should still be viewable even after the auction. I assume you want to know if 4k is a fair price for the car. Details on the car will help figure out what it could be worth. I'll say right now if it doesn't run and drive then forget it for that price.
There's a thread (or 2) already on here about this car. Those seats were an optional pattern. Probably pretty rare.
I didn't think the Riviera seats were the same as the GS, thought they were B body seats not A body seats so they wouldn't interchange.
Those seats (and the rest of the interior) is the Deluxe interior option. That era of Riv is an E body (49000 series in the chassis manual) and are completely different than the A bodys. The back plastics and head rests are interchangeable throughout the body series though.
Yes I was trying to find the thread and not make a new one. I'm not a buick expert so I wasnt shure if they would fit in my gs400 cpe they just looked the same..its very hard to find a power seat and reclyning passenger seat in a skylark. I tried to buy my friends and told him I'd still give him my seats and swap the covers over but he didnt want to..he ended up selling the car the next week
So then these seat frames wouldn't fit in my gs400? Add says sold but he emailed me this morning and he has it but wants 4k and the motor is frozen and rust under back seat https://www.ebay.com/itm/1969-Buick-Riviera-/224355875247?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292
Daniel, I'm not 100% positive but I dont think they will. I think the floor pan in the Riv's are different than the A body cars and the seat frame bottoms are different. Like others have stated, seems like a lot of work and money just for power driver and a reclining passenger seat that you probably will never sit in or use. Your best bet is to track down good cores for your A body. GS fred might even have some or know where some are he has like 5 of everything lol.
