Question for all you '69 guys and gals.......please look at my pictures.

DID ALL 1969 Skylarks / GS's come with the blackened out trunk trim, and wheel well moldings?
Also did the rear tail light bezel screws come with black or chrome heads?

Was this perhaps plant specific.....or early vs. late build feeding off the 1968 models?

My 69 does not have black on any of the trim and the tail light screws are black not chrome.

My '69 Skylark has chrome screws & no paint on the trim. Taillights have been replaced by the last owner though, so who knows there.

I believed them to be from a 68 (painted center section). Was the only way to tell apart 68 from 69. Was your car an early build?

    Dan,

First: more pics of the car!!!

Second: the trunk trim (3 pieces) are pot metal pieces that are chrome plated- NO BLACK. Someone put pinstripe tape (or paint) on yours. Like TAF said, the black on your wheelwell trim is 1968 ONLY.

Third: Tail light screws are either flat black phos or gold cad plated. I believe the Skylark models have cad plated and GS models had the black phos. I sent you 8 black phos. If you need gold cad, I will send those out to you tomorrow- again, for the goose :).

I love the plating on those screws. That's a perfect candidate for that Eastwood plating kit. Do they have a gold cad option in that kit? Mine are bare metal so whatever they were new has worn off.

BTW, that is the nicest trunk trim I have seen in my entire life. It looks like there are zero miles on that car.
