Hello All. I am looking at a 1969 Electra 225. Vin is 482699h284334. Car has 99k miles and is in very good condition. I am having a little difficulty ID'ing the motor. All Buicks I have owned have been 350 or 455's.....this one looks a little different than those, I think it is a 430. The car is in a rural area and I should have taken pictures. Is there any production info on motors for 69 Electras on the web? Thanks

    430

If it still has it's original engine it should be a 430

Thanks! I was able to id it by the #on the rochester carb. Did Buick put anything other than a 430 in the "69 Electra? By the way I am picking up this car tomorrow. It looks like a decent survivor. Body and interior are very good even dash has no cracks. No rust.

In 69 the only engine option for a 6000, 8000 or 9000 series was the 430. An Electra is a 8000 series car. The 455s were not introduced into the Buick line until the 70 model year.

    430 cu.in.

My biggest mistake involving Buick's was getting rid of my '68 430 cu.in. engine.
