Does anyone know if the 1969 Cadillac De Ville Convertible frame will interchange with the 1970 Buick Electra? I have a chance to pick up a good one cheap and would like to replace the rusty one on my 225 ragtop.

Remember that song "A Deuce and a Quarter is not a Cadillac" ?
The wheelbase of your Electra is smaller:

    1969 Cadillac DeVille: 328.93 cm
    1970 Electra 225 Custom: 322.58 cm

I couldn't say for certain, but I would be nearly sure that it won't. GM big cars didn't start frame sharing till 1971.

Figures.... I have a chance to pick up a '69 Deville Convertible up for $200. Missing drivetrain, interior. Still has top assembly etc. I am thinking the top assemblies and the rear quarter windows are the same. Is this correct. I figure those parts alone are worth the $200. How about the rear ends?? Do they interchange?

My recollections from a '70 Coupe De Ville I owned is that Cadillac used their own frame, and the rear end was a completely different animal from the other GM cars.
Looked like something that belonged under a dump truck.

The frame will not work.Totally different.Rear end is much different ,too. The top frame will work, but would have to double check on the glass.I believe that the glass won't work, other than the windshield.

As long as it is a boxed frame like a convertible uses. Some 4dr Electra's would have an optional "heavy duty" frame, for towing or whatever other reason. More than likely, that 4dr car will not have a boxed frame, but it wouldn't hurt to check it.

I work part time at the junkyard so its no problem to remove it. its a shame he did not ask 1 month earlier cause they just crushed a 68 lesabre convertable
