Does anyone know the part number on '68 Riviera turn signal cancel cams? I imagine its the same from 66-70, and probably longer, and I bet it is the same as A bodies.. just my thoughts.

    Thanks!

As far as I know, '66 is different, '67 is likely the same as '68, but I'd bet '69 and '70 are different because '69 was the first year that had the switch on the column. Also, the directional switches were the same in '67 and '68, but the later switches are different. Although they used a few different switches in '67-'68, I think the cam is the same. Perhaps someone with a parts book could confirm this? :Do No:

I may be getting a 1968 Riviera to part out today. I'll let you know.

I don't know if the cancelling cam changed in 1967-68 ( I don't think so) but there were many models of flasher swiches installed in 1967-68 models.
Some even required different steering columns.

I have seen 3 different models of flasher switches on my 1967-68 Buicks. My '67 Wildcat didn't have cornering lights and it's flasher switch didn't have wires for them. I have two 1967 Rivieras with the exact same interior (aqua color, tilt steering and console shift). The parts car had cornering lights and mine didn't before I had to replace some parts to repair an accident but my car already had the wires for the cornering lights on it's flasher switch. But the steering columns on both aren't the same because their hazard flasher button isn't located at the same place. The parts car uses a switch with replaceable springs (better design) while mine has a switch with non-replaceable (and very fragile) plastic tabs which seem to be more common on cars with cornering lights. My '68 Wildcat (with tilt steering, cornering lights and column shift) also had that fragile switch with plastic tabs and so did a 1968 Wildcat (without tilt steering, with conering lights and column shift) that I parted out. The switch with plastic tabs is the one with the hazard flasher button locared nearer to the steering wheel.

Finally my '68 LeSabre had the same switch as my '67 Wildcat (both with replaceable cancelling springs and without cornering light wires).

As noted above in 67 and 68 (all series) meaning A .B ,C and E bodies interchange. There is an exception for some low end skylarks in the 67 model year.

Perhaps they are only the same WITHOUT tilt wheel? That doesn't sound correct to me.......I had a horrible time finding a replacement switch for my '67 Riv. They told me the '67-'68 "E" body with tilt wheel uses a unique switch. It is the same as some full sized '67-'68 Pontiacs. It was the "pink" one with cornering lights, and as Phil mentioned the flasher button was closer to the steering wheel. That's the one with the cheesey plastic cancel tabs that like to snap off. It was listed as a Riv only part, and as my luck would have it, I found one NOS and paid $150 for it.

Then, shortly after I received it, I bought a parts car that had the better "white" switch in it that uses little metal springs instead of plastic tabs for cancelling, and has the flasher knob located further away from the wheel hub. The choice here was obvious :Brow: ......I opted to use the more rare "white" switch. That one is more reliable, and it works easier on cold mornings than the plastic one does, (the plastic tends to get stiff and perhaps that's why they tend to break).

My "pink" NOS P.N. #7805675 switch is for sale for what I paid if anybody is looking for one. :)

Man, what a process. Thanks for the info. I just won a couple '69 tilt columns on eBay that may have a working cam, (probably not), so this info helps!
