Max Damage I'm working on it!

I am at the point where I need to remove the aluminum trim that surrounds the side glass on my GS California car (Thin pillar coupe like Special Deluxe).

I am wondering if anyone has tricks tips or ideas on how to do that? I don't see any studs passing through to the inside, so I am guessing that it hooks/snaps on more like the drip rail stainless?

Thanks in advance for sharing any ideas or experiences.

In case anyone else needs this info.

The beltline trim (at the bottom of the windows) is secured by screws in both the door and the quarter panel.

In order to release the door piece, it's necessary to remove the wing window/vent window.

Also dropping the windows below were they normally go is necessary to unscrew the phillips head screws that secure the exterior trim and beltline sweepers(these are on the back of the trim).

The other three piece of trim on the doors window frame are just snapped on, so they are removed by force from the inside lip, from front to rear. This isn't easy. I used a plastic pry bar and was able to push hard against the inside lip of the trim or get behind it and then proceed along the trim until it pops off.

Athough it's aluminum, it seems to me to be much more forgiving than the stainless drip rail, which is almost impossible to remove without damage, unless you're Adam...

The quarter window has different window channel which is metal with fuzzy side and is secure by screws. These screws are inside the window channel and also (through the curved top piece) secure the top trim piece. There are two sections of this window channel, one on the vertical from post of the quarter, and one which curves along the roof line and goes down into the quarter. The second is also secured by a small bolt on the interior quarter in addition to the screws.

The Trim on vertical quarter window lead edge is secure by two clips, so it need to be slid towards the rear of the car.
