Mark- I immediatly thought of you.. Then I saw the stick and remembered your leg... Trust me, something WILL pop up :beer
That is what I thought too, why would anyone want a 4 speed in their convertible???:spank: After looking at the pics, I have to wonder, does it come with a driveline, or was that lost with the steering wheel and seat belts?  Looks like a very nice car, isn't this a board member's?
George, Yep, I had a 4 speed and had to sell it. I used to have a 69 hard top that color, and I liked it. I think this the same color David Roth is painting his coupe. One of these days, when all is right in my world I will get another 68-69 convertible. :TU:
There were only 351 4-speed convertible '68 GS 400 made, to heck with the steering wheel wrong, where's the driveshaft???? o No:
Mark, I painted mine Signal Red, it's awesome...and for sale:TU: I even put the stripe on for you:beers2:
David, Your just wrong for doing that, Dang you :spank:  Now on to the serious side, it looks AWESOME!!!! I would be proud to own that one Why wasnt I just born rich, instead of good looking
So, just to make sure I'm reading this correctly, you could not get that comfort grip steering wheel from the factory in 68? I'll have to be honest, mine has the original, and I had already posted a thread about which hub I needed to convert it to the sport wheel. It just looks SOOOOOO much better than the "correct" one that's in mine! I'm going to put it in anyway, and keep the original in a closet somewhere for a rainy day!!!!!
Correct, no 'comfort grip' wheel. There were 3 (?) wheels available- cheesy 3 big spokes, the 2 small spoke with 1 big spoke (containing the horn) and a 3 spoke simulated wood sport steering wheel measuring 16" in diameter. The faux wood wheel looks GREAT in the 68's :beer
I have a simulated wood sport steering wheel measuring 16" in diameter correct for 68 but will work on 69 for sale. PM me.
It was supposed to be an original Buick wheel, it cam with the hub an center cap. I know its not a repro.. I thought Buicks came with simulated wallnut and corvets had rosewood? I can't tell a rosewood from a wallnut anyway:laugh:
