1968 four barrel Buick 350, little hat behind the timing gear???

    Can anybody confirm that i am right that it goes the top timing gear!?! And its purpose?:rolleyes:

    I solved this issue myself so this is for the benefit of others. I googled buick 350 exploded view, and up came old info. from this websight. It showed an exploded view image of a early buick v8, where the 350 gets its roots from. The part goes on the crankshaft snout and is an oil slinger, sandwiched between the lower gear and the harmonic balancer.
