First the timing. The label states 0 at 575 rpm? Can I run it at 2-4?

Then the vacuum hoses from the 3 port thing in the intake on the driverside. It has D C and MT by each port. I was wondering what the letters stand for. One has the vacuum advance on it, one to the right side lower port on the carb(driverside) and the other goes to full vacuum on the port on the left(passengerside) with a T going to the Air cleaner.

I just want to make sure its correct. Thanks

I don't remember exactly how was the vacuum hose routing on my 68 430 but I don't think that a manifold vacuum was connected to the "3 port thing" (TVV). There were two small vacuum ports at the rear of the manifold, one was for the transmission modulator and the other one was used for the accessories (A/C-cruise-power locks-power trunk). If your car has the automatic level control, there should be a few more tees and hoses (the 68 system was more complicated than the 67 or 75-76 systems I have as it connects to 3 vacuum ports instead of one).
I might be wrong but maybe "C" is for Carb and "D" for Distributor. I have no idea what "MT" stands for, it might be related to the vacuum motor (diaphragm) for the Thermac air cleaner. I'll look at my chassis manual tomorrow for more precise information.

    Thanks again Phil

My car dosent have the ride level system or the auto climate control. I will take a picture but I will be out of town for 2 days. Thanks

I looked in the shop 68 manual.
The Thermac air cleaner was called Controlled Combustion System in 1968 (Olds called the same system Climatic Combustion Control in 1967).
The name of the "3 port thing" in 68 wasn't a TVV as I stated in my previous post but a TVS (Thermostatic Vacuum Switch).
The C port goes to the driver's side port of the carb (at the right of the fuel inlet).
The "D" port goes to the vacuum advance (Distributor).
The MT port goes to the tee.
The other ports from the tee go to the sensor in the air cleaner base and to the top left port on the carburator (above the choke pull-off port) on the passenger side.

The other hose from the temperature sensor in the air cleaner base goes to the vacuum motor on the air cleaner snorkel.

Electras equipped with manual A/C also required vacuum for the actuators, it was plugged in the same port as the cruise and the accessories at the rear of the intake (90 elbow).
When a 1967-68 430 had no A/C or vacuum operated accessories, this port was plugged (except on Rivs as the standard heater system also used vacuum actuators).

Advance the timing to +6 or +8! More even if you can get away with it without pinging!!!! The 0* thing was for EMMISSIONS only and seriously hurts your performance!
