Does any one know the factory camshaft lift intake and exhaust, intake and exhaust duration at .050 and lobe separation. Did Buick use the same camshaft throughout 10 year run from 1968-1977. I am particularly interested in what the original cam specs as noted above were for a 1975 Buick 350 engine. Let me know Thanks
Ask Gary Farmer. I believe it is the Federal Mogul CS-647 cam. http://www.v8buick.com/index.php?threads/buick-350-three-cam-comparison.327415/
nhra list the partial cam info http://www.nhraracer.com/content/general.asp?articleid=46634&zoneid=132
So it looks like a Buick stock Camshaft spec are as follows: Intake 189 degrees duration at .050 Exhaust 208 degrees duration at .050 Intake lift .377 Exhaust lift .392 both with 1.55 Rocker ratio 114 LS Did Buick use this cam on all 1968-1977 Buick 350 2 bbl and 4 bbl engines
looked at it this am. I pulled up one and and they listed the lift. generally the lift is what nhra is concerned about. the other specs is up to the racer.
I have copies of the NHRA sheets for the 1970 350 from Denny Manner. I will attempt to scan and post them in the next couple days. If I remember correctly Denny said that there was very little if any change for the 350 cam(s) through out the years of production.
Here are the NHRA sheets that Denny sent in 1970. There were 2 cams which were very similar. Unfortunately the .050 specs were not listed on purpose to allow the racers to alter the cam specs to their own liking.
