I have 162 pictures chronicling the restoration at: http://s878.photobucket.com/albums/ab349/Starchboy/1967 Buick Gran Sport GS 400 There is also one video of the car when we first fired it up, no exhaust on it at that point so it was very loud! I urge you to check out the phos, this resto was done right and the photos really detail that.

This numbers matching GS 400 was restored at Paintworks Unlimited in Dover NH specializing in high end classic and especially Buick restorations. The original numbers matching 400 and transmission are out of the car and are unrestored. (Ran fine when I found it) The car currently has a 1972 455 with TA Performance Stage 2 heads and TA performance headers. Also added was a center console with B&M shift kit and aluminum radiator. Car was originally column shift and everything is still there if you want to hook it back up. It also had a vinyl top originally but I liked it better without. Differential was replaced with a posi and 3.55 gears, have all the original parts. This gold is the original color.
When I found the car it had some rot in the usual places, lower fenders, lower quarters, trunk mounts. The floor was in great shape and needed only one patch. Everything was disassembled and restored or replaced. All suspension bushings are new. New custom exhaust with flowmaster 40 series mufflers. Basically the car is slightly modified but mostly stock and you could easily put it back to all stock. Very fast, very fun to drive, especially with the ratchet shifter and looks fantastic. I've driven it for 2 seasons now and kept it clean.

$17,500 with original drivetrain only or $22,000 with both the original drivetrain and the one currently in the car. No trades please.

The car is in Dover, NH. Please e-mail me at mcstarch@comcast.net if you have questions or would like to come see and drive the car.

    Thanks,

    Jon

Hmm, no interest? Is the price not fair for that type of resto?

    Just curious.

I'm not sure if it is fair or not, but I think there are two things working against you:

The economy, which is the main thing.

And, the fact that the only ones who are looking/able to possibly buy are the sharks. To them, nothing you have put in or on the car is worth much (until they go to sell it then it's premium prices).

Thanks for the insight, I'm sure you're right. Beautiful restoration and well worth it!

Very nice car. Perhaps it's the fram filter that's driving them away? I was just schooled on how bad they are!

Ha! I will throw in an oil filter of choice for the buyer.

There's a few things that might be a deterrent to a buyer. The color gold may not be everyone's favorite. It doesn't have the correct engine or shifter. No wheel opening trim either. Not sure how low on the price you will have to go. Still a nice car though.

Thanks, just to clarify: $21,000 includes both the original numbers matching 400 and TH400 AND the 455 & TH400 currently in the car. For $16,500 I'll take the 455 out and put the original numbers matching drivetrain back in. All original equipment (shifter, diff, etc) is included either way. Gold is the original color for this car.

Hey Jon, know what I don't like about your car?
    NOTHING!!
It is beautiful and very tastefully done. I think Gold is a great color. You sure do nice work. Is it holding up good? Nearly 3 years since first posted, unreal no buyers.
    Love the 67s.

    Best luck,
    Mike

Nice car. Good luck with the sale. You can't drag one out of a grove and get it looking like this for $20k, at least not around here. Your car is a value.
