I thought the 67's had the "Thin Bird", as in what Cars inc. sold me... I wonder if mine are correct... as I do see many with the tri shields...:Do No: see pic

Skylarks had the thin birds. GS came with the tri-shields.

I've seen both thin bird and tri-shield, dunno which is correct. My 4-spd convert has the tri-shield.

My post 4-spd car is that color with a white interior. I can't wait to get to it to restore, the color combo should be stunning!

Most of the vintage photos and original '67 cars I've seen have the black tri-shield inserts. My opinion is that very few '67s had the red inserts but there is definitely proof that some had the red: check out this thread:

I have the original hubcaps that came with my car when it was driven off the lot for the first time, bird caps. I guess anything is possible.

Here is an excerpt from an email from the owner when he was asked what the reserve was, the car may be for sale for awhile.

"58,000.00, No problem with inspection. I uplaoded a pic from the papers my Dad go the day he ordered the car. Neil"

I parted alot...er..um..i mean a few...67s back in the 80s (including a 67 gs 400 post car with a 4 speed and consolette)....all of htem had tri sheild centers...some cars where untouhced...forever it was my understanding tri sheild caps are correct for all 67s..

58,ooo...the guy is fishing, people that put prices like that on their cars are showing off the car...not trying to sell it....

Hey Mark I hear.... it's just I would think Cars would know thier stuff... and when I picked up all my parts they insisted 100% that the "Tri Shields" did not come out till "68" as per thier parts book.... now when I got my 67 it did have tri shields on it , but the flat type like 70-80's style, not the one shown here. even my buddy's 67 GS 400 4 spd has the red thin birds, but I suspect he got his from cars also. now I am not saying that cars is wrong, I just would like to know if infact the "Tri Shields" where available in 1967...JJJ
