Hello all, I am just a Pontiac guy who restoring a 1970 GSX for an old friend and I thought I stop by here and show you my personal toy. ...I have some info and pics of the GSX the members ride section that I started this week. It is called GSX restoration { not a concourse}. Here is a link to a few pics of what occupies my time when I am not restoring Buicks...:beers2: http://s1126.photobucket.com/albums/l608/dragracer5344/Pontiac Firebird/
I had one of those as a kid. 400CI med cam auto trans. It was quick and I Ran the snot outta that car for a summer till it spun a bering. Traded it for a 65 chevy van with a 327/375hp w/2 speed power glide.
My first car was a 96 firebird convertable and I have always liked them more than the camaros. Mine was not as fast as your looks.
Here are a few motor pics....no it is not a Pontiac engine, after scattering about 3 455 h.o's I had to go with a BBC , much cheaper and they rev a little higher http://s1126.photobucket.com/albums/l608/dragracer5344/Pontiac motor pics/
A friend of mine new I was looking for a car back in 1999. He said he worked with a guy that had a 67' Camaro, I told him I was not interested. I ran into to him about 2 months later and he said he screwed up that it was a 67' Firebird. I called ther guy and he wanted 500.00 bucks because the motor was blown. I said I will take it site unseen, and had to drag him out of a volleyball tournament at a local watering hole to go drag it off the side of the mountain during a steady rain. It had a little body damage on the drivers side, but I was putting all fiberglass on it for racing, so I did not care. I towed it to my shop at the time, pulled off the valve cover, found a few rockers off, put them on and was doing a burnout in the parking lot within the hour.....it has changed from a 16 second turd into a respectable race car in about tens years......I must be insane
