1967 GS400 throttle rod to carb clip

Hello all,

I am finally on the home stretch with my restoration. I took her for a drive around the block for the first time!

Anyway, I have a 72 QJ on my engine and I am using the 67 throttle rod. I need the correct clip or at least one that will do the job. I checked the chassis manual and the picture doesn't really show the clip in any detail.
Can anyone help with an actual clip, picture, or source for one?
I have attached a picture of what I have now. Is this correct? It seems to pop off too easily. When I bought the car it had an edelbrock carb on it and I can't remember if this clip was the one on it or where I got it otherwise. Thanks.

 

Nope - not correct:

There is no external clip like that. The ball sits inside the tube and there is a clip with a flare that goes around it. I don't have access to mine but this is off ebay.

That's the correct clip, mine is the same as in the pic that Bill posted.

Thanks folks. That is the same throttle rod that I have too, but mine doesn't have a clip inside the hole. Is it available, or do I need another throttle rod?

 

Both of my '67s look like this picture that Bill posted.

 

Same on my '67 Wildcat and the '67 Electra before that.

Checked my garage box of such parts, no luck. Will check basement box with such parts tomorrow...that'll be a little more digging.

Sorry Ed, no luck! If it helps, the Jegs clips look just like what you need, so there's always that source. I'll keep my eyes open for an original here, might still surprise myself.
