I think I'm having trouble with my Parking lights. Are they supposed to be on when the headlights are on? They come on when I pull to the first stop on the switch then go out when I pull to the 2nd stop for the headlights. Is this normal for this year of car or should they be on with the headlights. I even took the switch apart and as far as i can tell it looks like this is how it was designed to operate. Anybody know? o No:
1967 and prior cars don't have the parking lights on when the headlights are on. They only come on when pulled to the first setting and go off when in the 2nd one. Beginning with the 1968 models, parking lights were required to be on with the headlights. Mark
Thanks for the reply dcm422... I was tearing my hair out searching for an electrical problem, and spent a few hrs searching/ tracing wires etc. this clears it all up! Now my only problem is convincing the newbie mechanic at the State Inspection Station. :Smarty:
