1967 Engines??????

    Hi,I just picked up a 1967 430 out of a wildcat.I remember that 67 motors were desirerable for flow characterists of the the exhaust manifolds and maybe the heads.Can someone fill me in? Thanks

    '67 430 's with head #'s 1372963 , 1382983,1382985,1382986 , and '68 400's #1384720 and '68 430's #s 1382983 , 1382985, 1384720 were all large port heads , the intake ports outflow any stock ( unported ) big block big head

    Thanks Steve,For the info,I will make some notes on those casting numbers.Are the exhaust manifolds better on 67 motors as well?????? I thought I had heard before that they are.

    430 manifolds

    yes they ( '67 )flow better than other 400 430 manifolds yet they only had 2 " oulets , where 455 's had 2 1/4 " outlets and flowed better then the 400's and 430 's

    My Rivvie has a 430 wildcat sittin under the hood, that still apply? im gettin the motor overhauled as soon as the gooberment sends me that tax check, is this something i should take into consideration?

    Are you sure? The 67 set I got of my GS400 and 67 430 had the large 2.5" openings.

    I still have two of them although one is broken.
