I finally got the 4 barrel intake and manifold on my 1967 300 motor . We cant figure out how to put the kick down switch on it. Is there a bracket I need any pics would be much appreciated
What carb are you running? Stock carb, AFB, should hook up. If you have an Edelbrock, then some fabbing is in your future.
Pictures are kind of hard to see, but it looks like an AFB with the correct linkage. I don't see any sign of the solenoid for the transmission. Do you have that? If so the transmission is connected to the lower lever with a clip. If you have a owners manual it shows the setup very well.
I had it done a shop and all parts where put in a box. Can you post a pic what the solenoid looks like. I'm not to good at engine stuff
It should be the same switches and mounting bracket as the 2 barrel set-up. I see the stud on the carb with the clip on it is there.
Thanks for the pic I think the bracket I have that holds the kick down switch might be backwards and might need to find one of those clips that holds it on. Thanks for every ones help on here that has replied with some input.:beer
Be sure you get the micro switch mounted right. That top pivot point has a slightly oval hole and it should click when you take the slop out of the linkage. That carb isn't a 65 carb, make sure it's not or a big block. What's the number?
Where is the number on it . Looks like the pin on the bracket that holds the switch is facing the wrong way . Is there a different bracket for a 4 barrel than a 2 barrel
Or do I need to put the kick down switch on . I know it wont drop down a gear when I punch it as long as it wont effect the tranny
The number is on the base plate, front passengers side, 4 digits 3827, 4033 or something like that. The brackets should be the same.
