1966 Rivera GS On eBay I'm not kidding on what I said about buying this car, If I had a bigger garage. Bad boattail Thanks for posting the Pix and the link. AL.
I sat in this car the other day. It is for sale in the showroom for 15,500. The car is perfect, all manuals and factory literature were in the trunk. Car recently from Canada, built in Flint.
Bidding has ended for this item Current bid: US $9,900.00 (Reserve not met) I don't think 15,500.- is too much for such a perfect car?
:ball: ...............:ball: ................ This guy selling the car is another one who says "a Riviera is not a muscle car", I read his description. I only hope that car's new owner is not as ignorant as he is.
He apparently never saw the Riviera ad that claimed the car was, " An iron fist in a velvet glove" (A '65 ad if I remember correctly) No respect! No respect at all!
The seller is in the car business (showroom is the midwest retail outlet for RM Auctions), though I got the impression from him he looked at this as a bit more of his personal car with plans for use in the spring. (They didn't have any other interesting muscle cars at present, but.. How about a 58? Bonneville tripower with factory underdash record player, or a 62 Chrysler New Yorker wagon all options with 3600 orig miles?) He may have bought it earlier on ebay, that part wasn't clear-maybe someone has an old listing to help eval what sort of price he paid He is definately not as knowledgable as the members of this board (the enthusiam and info here is incredible), but he owned many of the favored cars of this board when new, and has owned over 25 Buicks. He would definately hold his own in an 'enthusiast' conversation.
I wonder how well those workedo No: Imagine going around a corner too fast or hitting a bump in the road?
"But new audio distractions continued to appear. In the late 1950s, Chrysler and RCA both tried to cash in on the 45-rpm record craze by putting phonographs into the automobile. Chrysler's underdash 16 2/3-inch record player was called the "Highway Hi-Fi," but its rudimentary suspension couldn't possibly cushion the tone arm from even the slightest road shocks. Needles would bounce and skate all over the record. Not surprisingly, few were sold"
