I pulled this out of my 71 Skylark because it has a built 462 in it now. The code on this rear is 9783393. The N is stamped on it. I opened it up and confirmed 11 pinion teeth 39 ring gear teeth. It's a 3:55, gears looked great. Last time I drove the car March 2014 it was doing great. It's been in my garage since then. It has been redone for the housing at some point in its life, rustoleum black it looks like. The gear oil looked great as well. I know this is a Buick site but if anyone knows a 66 or 67 GTO guy that wants a Nodular rear that goes with there GTO send them my way. The casting is the same for 66 and 67 GTOs. This one is an earlier 66 in that it's only 54 and 1/2 inches backing plate to backing plate. Later casting were 551/2" by what I researched.This item will be posted in Ebay and locally. Price is $ 1200. I prefer local pick up, I'm near Dallas Texas. I can crate it up but at the buyers expense, shipping would not be fast with my schedule.
