I think it's the same frame, but the fenders and 1/4s are different, it could be made to fit but you'd have to change everything to get it to match. then you'd have a Skyvelle or a Chevlark
On the plus side, the car looks very straight, might still have original paint, and the interior looks complete....right down to the steering wheel and radio delete plate! Rust issues need close inspection. Rocker panel rot is unusual, might've been caused by clogged water drains... I'd suggest taking a good look at the lower cowl area too. And another plus.... the pedal/linkage/and bellhousing will work nicely for a 300/340/350/400/430/455 swap! Then add the 4 or 5 speed of your choice. Chevelles are actually a little shorter in the rear, frame is about 2 inches shorter than Buick/Olds/Pontiac.
I know it's been on Craig's list for a while. I swear it was for sale for $900 prior to this guy owning it from what I remember correctly. But I may be wrong.
WOW, I hope he's not just showing pics of the passenger side, because it's the "good" side. I wonder how bad the rot is on the driver side????? That passenger fender has SEVERE rot, not just a simple patch at the bottom, the rot is way above the body line.WOW:shock:
Anything around the Chicagoland area will have serious rust issues if the car spent it's life here! Some of the Chevelles of the same vintage would have an asking price of double that just because it's old. Still cheaper to go out west and buy than start repairing severe rust and rot!
He's dropped his price to $1800 http://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/cto/3577254612.html IM SELLING MY 1966 BUICK SPECIAL FOR $2,500 RUNS AND DRIVES EXCELLENT ITS 3 SPEED MANUAL ON THE COLUMN! 3 ON THE TREE!
