Does anybody know if a floor shift tilt column from a 66 Pontiac Bonneville will work in a 66 Wildcat? I would love to add a tilt to my car and have located one from a Bonneville. If anybody has any information, or a Hollander interchange manual, I would appreciate any help. Thanks!
Mine & the column I am looking at are floor shift. Mine doesn't have cornering lights, I don't know about the column I'm looking at. I also saw a 66 Impala floor shift tilt column, but it doesn't say anything about cornering lights either. Thanks for the information. I didn't realize the cornering lights were an issue with the column!
the Buick dash is funky compared to the pontiac dash..it will interchange..66 didnt have cornering..on pontiacs...and in a pontiac column its just a spare wire, if you dont use it nothing happens you can make it work but it has a huge gap and looks rigged post a pic of your column in the car...a couple diff angles, i have a66 catalina tilt laying on the bench, we can compare and i can point it out..physically it will work, but cosmetically i would guess, lets see...
Marxjunk, I would love to post a pic of mine, but it is MIA, stolen from my storage unit when it was broken into a couple of years ago. I have a parts car that has a column shift column, so I've been searching ebay recently and saw the Bonneville floor shift tilt column. I also found some 65-67 Impala columns, maybe they are closer? Thanks for the information, I really want to get it back to "original", so unless the Impala column is close enough, I'll continue my search for a Wildcat column. If this works, I'm trying to include a picture of the Impala column. Thanks!
Steve I may have an extra tilt column in my stash of parts. I am not sure what they are worth but would be willing to negotiate with you if interested. This would be a 66 Wildcat tilt column. Let me know and I will try to find it.
John, If it is a floor shift column, it really doesn't need to be a tilt column. That's just what I have found on Ebay when searching for other B-Body columns. I do like the idea of a tilt column though. Take a look at what you have and PM when when you get a chance. There is an Impala column on Ebay that is ending soon that I would try, if you don't have anything. Thanks!
