1966 401 engine and trans on eBAY

Sould'nt the '66 401 come with either a st300, or st400, instead of a dynaflow?

 

I was wondering about the trans as well.
I am looking at this auction very closely but I am wondering if someone can clarify the trans number and the head numbers.
Trans = The trans # is B-1364705
Heads = engine number is (both heads)is B-1374603-E.

Can anyone shed some light on this????
I am only an hour from this seller and I would love to grab this up.

I found some info that confirms that the heads are numbers that are for a 64-66 401/425. Don't remember where I got this from though. Hope this helps some.

it does have the "'66 only" loop on top of the water cross over pipe - far right corner of the pic.

 

I was thinking...........

I was thinking of buying it for the tranny? Since my has not worked well since I tried all that I could about getting it to shift correctly? I have a 66 Motor in my 65 so I thought that it might be cheaper then rebuilding mine? According to the add it worked well when pulled? Anyone Need a Motor?

I was going to bid for the tranny as well.
But I see it's 209... right now and I am just TOO poor for that.
Considering it would not be going in the car/truck for several months anyway.
I need to use any extra cash to finish the project before I worry about powering it.

I was going to offer my services to pick this engine up for a winning bidder and store it for him/her since I'm only a few miles from there, but now I see the auction has ended early.

 

Motor and Trans

I wrote the Guy about the Motor and Tans and he told me he ended it early to sell to a Guy for $300.00, I really hate when that happens! I did not see any where in the listing that he would end it early because it was for sale locally, I really wanted to get that Motor and trans to rebuild so I could learn more about the Nailhead! :Smarty: But such is life!
